Each time a web page is visited, the browser downloads pieces of the page so that each time you visit that site the page loads faster, this page data is stored in the cache. If browser issues are experienced or you have issues when visiting a site it may be necessary to clear the cache.


Upon clearing the cache each web page you visit will then be downloaded as a fresh copy and the browser is forced to rebuild the cache. It is important to note when clearing the cache items such as saved passwords, website addresses in the address bar are removed.


Clearing the cache will be different for each browser, click the links for the browser you use.

Please ensure after clearing the cache you close the browser completely and then re-open it and try again.


Chrome


1. Open the Chrome browser.


2. Click the 3 vertical dots (to the right of the address bar), select More Tools, then Clear Browsing data.



3. Under Basic, select the time range, ensure the tick boxes are selected, then click Clear Data.



4. Close the Browser and re-open it.


Chrome (on a Mac)

1. Click Chrome (top left corner of the screen),  then click Clear Browsing Data..



A pop-up will display asking what you want to clear. 


2. On the Advanced tab, ensure the options selected are:-

Cookies and other site data

Cached images and files


3. Click Clear Data, then close Chrome completely for the changes to take effect


Note: Press Command and Q on your keyboard simultaneously to close.


Microsoft Edge


1. Open the Edge browser.


2. Click the 3 horizontal dots (to the right of the address bar), select Settings.



3. Select Privacy & Security, then under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear.



4. Select the options as displayed (others as a personal choice), then click Clear.



5. Close the Browser and re-open it.



Firefox


1. Open the Firefox browser.


2. Click the 3 lines (hamburger menu) to the right of the address bar, then select Options.



3. Select Privacy & Security.



4. Ensure the desired options are ticked, then click Clear.



5. Close the Browser and re-open it.



Safari


1. Open the Safari browser.


2. Click the Safari menu, then select Clear History or Clear History and Website Data


3. Select the desire time range, then click Clear History.



4. Close the Browser and re-open it.
