A Guillotine is added to the system defaults, this article will provide an overview of setting up a guillotine into ePrint.


1. Click the Settings cog (top right corner), then select ePrint MIS.



The window is arranged with a navigation pane on the left-hand side of the screen.


2. Click Plant and Presses, then Guillotine, then Add New Record.



3. The specifics of the Guillotine must be entered. The table below will provide a general overview of these settings.


Note: Items marked with an asterix (*) are required in order to save the details of the guillotine. 



**Note: This screen is displaying imperial measurements, therefore it is important to ensuring the measurements are accurate according to your region.



FIELDDESCRIPTION
  • Name
  • Description
The name of the guillotine is required and is the name that is referenced throughout system.
The description is optional, it is useful where there is more then one guillotine or the guillotine is listed several times with different cost settings applied.

Paper/Stock Feed Restrictions
  • Minimum Sheet Size for the Plant
  • Maximum Sheet Size for the Plant
  • Maximum Sheet Weight 
All these fields are required.
Measurements are entered as metric or imperial according to the region of the system. The values are according to what the machine accepts for ;
- Minimum sheet height & width
- Maximum sheet Size height & width
- Maximum weight of the sheet that the guillotine can take.

PLANT CHARGES
Set up Charge ($)

If you want to charge customers a setup charge when this guillotine is used enter the value here.

It is a one off charge to cover the cost for the operator to set up the machine.

Cost per Cut ($)Specify the cost to be applied for each cut to be made using this guillotine.
Select by Default on Estimate
Selecting this option the guillotine will be the default when creating estimates.
Minimum Running Charge ($)
The minimum running charge is the minimum amount the system will charge for the cutting. If the guillotine minimum charge is set as $10 and the calculation comes out to be $8 then the minimum charge of $10 will be used.
Mark Up (%)
The mark up % can be applied to the use of this guillotine. It can be entered as a default, alternatively set the markup on each estimate/job.

PLANT CALCULATIONS
Paper/Stock Weight (gsm)
Enter three paper weights that the guillotine will need to cut typically adding the lightest weight ever used, a mid weight, and the heaviest weight the machine will ever cut.
Max no. of Sheets that fit in the throat for the above Paper/Stock WeightSpecify the maximum number of sheets that the guillotine can cut in one stack for each of the three paper weights set in the previous fields. The system will use this information to calculate how many stoack or bundles the paper will need to be split into to cut the total quantity.  For example if the machine can cut 500 sheets of the paper used and the job uses 1,000 sheets the system will calculate to cut the job in two bundles.


4. Click Save.
