A file can be attached to an estimate, job or invoice, it can be any file type, (excluding an executable file), for example it may be the artwork that is to required for the production of the job.


In this example an attachment is added to an estimate, however the process is the same if adding the attachment to the job or an invoice.


1. Open the estimate.


2. Click Estimate Options, then select Attachments.

 


A dialog box is displayed with two tab options, General and Item Specific


When adding an attachment under General, the attachment relates to the whole estimate. When adding an attachment under Item Specific, it is specific to that item in the estimate. Therefore if there were multiple items on an estimate/job you may add the relevant file to each item, rather then the estimate/job as a whole.


3. In this example, click Item Specific (this is always the default tab selected), then click Add New Record.



4. Click Choose File, and browse to locate and select the file, then click Upload.


Note: The option Preflight Files is displayed if Pitstop is enabled on your system. This is used for the purpose of preflighting PDF's. If you would like further information please contact support@hexicomsoftware.com.


A notification is displayed when the file is successfully uploaded.

 

Note: To delete the file use the red cross to the right of the filename or click the tick box to the left of the filename and select the Delete button at the bottom of the dialog box.


5. Close the dialog box, using the cross in the top right corner.



6. Refresh the browser page, to display the Attachment link at the top of the estimate item summery screen.



Clicking the link will open a preview of the file in a new browser tab.
