In order to export to Xero from Hexicom, you will be required to send 2 codes to comply with the Xero security, this is a one-off process where we require two codes from your Xero system to be emailed to us,
- Client ID
- Client Secret Code
This article will guide you through the process of getting these codes from your Xero system for customers in the Southern Hemisphere.
1. Prepare an email with the following details;
To: support@hexicomsoftware.com
Subject: Xero API Codes
In the Body of the message type:
- Client ID -
- Client Secret -
2. Open a browser window, and navigate to https://developer.xero.com/myapps
Note: You can click on the link or copy and paste into a new browser tab.
3. When prompted, enter your Xero username and password, then click Log in.
4. You will then be asked to enter your Authentication code from your authenticator app.
5. Click the button, New App in the top right corner.
6. The following screen will appear, the instructions to complete this screen are visible in the table below the image;

3 | Company or application URL | Enter the URL of your Hexicom system including the https:// for example: https://demo.eprintsoftware.com (This can be copied and pasted from your Hexicom browser window) |

5 | Terms & Conditions | Click the tick box to agree to the Terms and Conditions |
6 | Create App | Click the Create app button. |
7. The following screen will appear. Click on the Save button in the top right corner.
10. Next go to the right side of your screen and click on Configuration.
11. On this screen look for the Client ID and then click on the Copy button next to it.
12. Return to your prepared email, and paste the Client ID next to the corresponding heading.
13. Then return to the browser window in step 11, and click the option to Generate a secret.
14. The Client Secret will then appear on screen, click the Copy button next to it.
11. Then, again return to your prepared email, and paste the Client Secret next to the corresponding heading.
12. Send the email.
