It is possible to add an outwork item as a sub item.  You might do this if you have a main item of printing a book but you need to outsource the binding of the book to a specialist.  Or if your main item is a sweatshirt you might outsource the embroidery of a logo to a specialist company.

This article is going to explain how to add an outwork item as a sub-item in an estimate, the process to do this in a job is almost identical.

1. In an Estimate, select the "Add Sub Item" drop-down then select "Outwork":

2. Configure the Outwork options such as:

  • Add one or more quantities
  • Fill out the description fields to provide a specification for your supplier to work to
  • Adjust the RQF (request for quote) return date and time
  • Adjust the expected job completion date
  • Add at least one supplier (having a supplier is mandatory)

When everything is satisfactory, select "Print/Email" to send the quote request to the supplier, or if you already have the suppliers prices click "Next" and add their prices on the following screen.

This is the screen where the suppliers prices can be added.  For more information on adding the suppliers prices see this article: https://hexicomsupport.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/24000078449
