Overview
We have added a new turn on/turn off feature to our Proofing module that allows you to prevent customers from leaving comments when they approve a proof. If enabled, customers will see a red notification message when they attempt to submit a comment along with an approval response.
Feature Details
- New Setting: Prevent Comments on Approve
- The new setting can be toggled on or off in the Proof Settings area under Customer Settings.
- When enabled, customers cannot submit comments if they select the Approve option for a proof.
How to Enable the Setting
Navigate to Proofing > Customer Settings in the admin panel.
Locate the setting labeled:
- "Prevent the customer from leaving a comment upon approval" (see screenshot below).
- "Prevent the customer from leaving a comment upon approval" (see screenshot below).
Check the box to enable the setting or uncheck it to disable it.
Click Save to apply changes.

When the Prevent the customer from leaving a comment upon approval setting is enabled:
If a customer attempts to submit a comment while approving a proof, they will see the following red error message:
Comments can not be submitted on an Approve response
The customer must clear the comment box to successfully approve the proof.
Key Notes
- Customers can still leave comments when rejecting a proof.
- This feature ensures cleaner proof approval workflows and prevents unnecessary comments during the approval process.
