Overview

We’ve introduced a new feature to display Proof Comments in the Estimate, Job, and Proof list views within the MIS. This enhancement makes it easier to identify when comments have been provided in the proofing module, providing a quick reference point for users.

Feature Details

1. New Column: "Proof Comments"

  • A new column labeled Proof Comments has been added to the following areas:
    • Estimate List View
    • Job List View
    • Proof List View

2. Display Behavior

  • By default, the column will be blank if no comments have been left.
  • If a comment has been provided on any of the attached proofs, the column will display “Provided”.
  • Even if multiple proofs exist and only one has a comment, the column will still display “Provided”.

3. Clicking on "Provided"

  • Clicking on the word "Provided" will open the corresponding Proof directly for quick access.

4. Comments in Proof List View

  • In the Proof List View, the column will display the actual comments left by the end user.
  • The column width is fixed to ensure that the grid remains clear and organized, regardless of the comment length.

Example Scenarios

ScenarioProof Comments Column Display
No comments on any proofsBlank
3 proofs attached, 1 with a comment“Provided”
5 proofs attached, all with comments“Provided”
Proof List View with actual commentsDisplays the actual comments

How It Works

  1. Estimate/Job List View:

    • Displays “Provided” if at least one proof contains a comment.
    • Clicking “Provided” will open the proof where the comment is located.
  2. Proof List View:

    • Displays the end user's actual comment.
    • The column width is fixed to avoid disruption in the grid layout.

Why This Feature is Helpful

  • Provides a clear visual indicator of when proof comments exist.
  • Reduces the need to manually check each proof individually.
  • Enhances workflow efficiency by allowing direct access to the proofing module.
