A kit product bundles multiple products into one package (e.g., “Bluebell Promotional Kit” made up of stickers, a poster, and a travel mug). Follow the steps below to set this up in HexiHub.
Step 1: Create the Individual Products
First, make sure the products that will go into the kit already exist:
- Bluebell Estates Stickers
- Bluebell Estates Poster
- Bluebell Estates Travel Mug
Step 2: Create the Kit Product
- Go to the Products module and click Add New Product.
- Name it Bluebell Promotional Kit.
- Under Product Type, tick This is a stock item.
- Set Draw Stock From to Other Products.
Note: By default, the kit cannot be ordered if the stock level of all included products is zero. Selecting Allow Back Orders gives you flexibility in two scenarios:
- If you are not tracking stock on the kit or its components, this option allows customers to still add the kit to their cart.
- If you are tracking stock, it lets customers add the kit to their cart even when one or more of the component items are out of stock.
Step 3: Set Pricing for the Kit
- Open the Pricing tab and enter the price for the kit (as a single bundled item).
- Click Save & Manage Stock to continue.
Step 4: Add Items to the Kit & Configure Stock Adjustment
- In the stock management screen, add each item that belongs in the kit:
- Bluebell Estates Stickers
- Bluebell Estates Poster
- Bluebell Estates Travel Mug
- For each item, set Stock to be adjusted against 1 unit to reflect how many units of that item are used in a single kit.
What “Stock to be adjusted against 1 unit” means
This controls how much stock is deducted from each component when one kit is sold. Examples:
- Kit includes 1 poster → set poster’s value to 1.
- Kit includes 2 mugs → set travel mug’s value to 2.
- Not tracking stock for an item → set the value to 0.
Note: If you are not tracking stock levels for a component, set its Stock to be adjusted against 1 unit to 0. This prevents the system from attempting to deduct stock for that item when a kit is sold.
Step 5: Save the Kit
Review your settings and click Save. Your kit product is now ready to use. When the kit is ordered, the system will deduct stock from each component according to the quantities you set.
